According to Foxbaltimore, Crime in Howard County is a big problem. Many people are worried about their safety. On Thursday night, police went to a place where someone was shot. The person who was shot was an 18-year-old man. He was not killed, but it was a very scary situation.

Diana Lyles is a person who lives in Howard County. She has seen many crimes happen in her neighborhood. She has even caught some crimes on her home security camera. She said, “I was the victim of an attempted car break-in. I’m glad they didn’t get into my car, but they did break into my neighbor’s car.” Diana is not alone in her concerns. Many people in Howard County are worried about the types of crimes that are happening.

Crime Statistics Show Alarming Trends

The police have looked at the data and found that crime is going up in almost every category. This means that more and more people are getting hurt or losing things because of crime. In the first five months of this year, there were 442 cars stolen. This is more than 150 cars than the same time last year. Keisha Graves, another person who lives in Howard County, said, “I know about the car thefts because there have been cars stolen from my apartment complex.” People are especially worried about kids committing crimes.
