With funding of $400,000, the initiative provides monthly cash transfers to selected residents, empowering them to improve their quality of life with amounts averaging between $1,100 and $1,400. However, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients are excluded due to potential conflicts with their benefits, according to the report of The US Sun.

In Chicago and Evanston, Illinois, similar initiatives are underway, providing $500 monthly payments to eligible residents. Additionally, a California city is distributing up to $725 monthly to support low-income individuals. These efforts aim to address economic disparities and foster resilience in communities across the country amidst ongoing challenges.
