Experts Warn of Cost Overruns in Biden‘s Student Loan Relief Plan
According to Fox Business, President Biden has come up with a plan to help Americans with a lot of student loan debt but experts say it could cost a lot more than they thought maybe even $750 billion over 10 years. The plan was supposed to cost $150 billion but some extra parts might make it much more expensive according to a group called the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.
Biden‘s plan for student loan has a few main parts. It includes things like getting rid of extra interest on student loan automatically forgiving debt for certain Americans and helping those who went to schools that didn’t give them good value for their money but deciding who gets help and who doesn’t could be tricky. Despite challenges Biden is determined to help families struggling with student loan and has already forgiven billions in loans through other means.

Furthermore, Biden‘s plan aims to tackle issues like defining who is in financial trouble and at risk of not paying back their loans. This part could add a lot to the overall cost and there have been setbacks like the Supreme Court rejecting a previous plan but Biden is sticking to his promise to ease the burden of student debt for millions. However finding the right balance between helping Americans and managing the cost will be a tough task.
