‘Fallout’ Franchise Production attracted to California with a $25 million tax credit
California’s economy and job market are expected to grow in the second season of the Amazon MGM Studios series
In a recent article in Smart News, offering a substantial tax credit of $25 million, California has effectively enticed the production of the second season of Amazon MGM Studios Fallout franchise to the Golden State. Even though the first season was mostly filmed in New York, despite the postapocalyptic Los Angeles setting, with this incentive, the production is expected to contribute an estimated $153 million in eligible expenditures and employ about 170 cast and crew people in California. With this move, California’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program has seen one of its largest relocations ever, demonstrating the state’s dedication to drawing and keeping big projects.

The California Film Commission also said that twelve TV projects, including new and recurrent programs, will share a total of $152 million in tax credits in addition to “Fallout.” It is anticipated that these projects will boost the state’s economy by over $1.1 billion and create jobs for thousands of crew members, actors, and background performers. California continues to be a top destination for the entertainment business, with intentions to prolong the present tax credit program until 2025 and continue it until 2030–31. There will be significant distribution funding available for television and cinema projects. The next application periods are set for June and July of 2024, respectively.
