Walz Budget Emphasizes Rural Ambulance Support Amidst Minnesota Surplus Management
According to the report of AXIOS, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota has suggested spending an extra $226 million to wisely manage the state big surplus. Despite having $3.7 billion extra experts warn against spending too much so Walz is being careful. He wants to keep most of the surplus safe at $3.5 billion while putting money where it is needed like Helping Kids Improving Water Quality and Supporting Rural Ambulance Services.

Rural Ambulance Support Highlights Walz’s $226 Million Plan for Minnesota Surplus Allocation
Walz plan includes $16 million to help rural ambulance services $45 million for a test program giving child tax credits earlier and almost $1 billion for building projects. Even though some groups wanted more money Walz believes his plan is a smart way to handle urgent needs while preparing for bigger talks later. It is important to note that there are no money for free school meals for all kids in his proposal but Walz says this is just the beginning of discussions and he open to other ideas. Now the state lawmakers need to work on setting spending limits for different areas. They have until May 20 to agree on any extra spending.
