USDA Farm and Food Workers Relief Program Offers $600 Payments for Farmworkers in Havre
According to Hi-Line Today, In Havre, the USDA is in town for their Farm and Food Workers Relief program aiming to provide one-time $600 payments to field and livestock workers. They are currently surveying Havre to determine how many individuals qualify for this assistance. Benjamin Wynn from Centro De Familia the group facilitating the handouts, explained that the program, funded during COVID is specifically designed to aid farm workers with financial support.

USDA’s $600 Relief Program Open to All Havre Field and Livestock Workers
Contrary to a common misconception Wynn clarified that this relief program is not only for migrant workers. To qualify for the $600 payment individuals just need to show proof of identification and evidence of employment with at least one hour worked during the pandemic. New Media Broadcasters spoke with Wynn to gain more insights into the program and its criteria. The initiative is part of the USDA’s efforts to assist those in the farming and food industry who have faced challenges due to the pandemic providing direct financial support to eligible workers in Havre.
