According to the report of FOX 25, on Capitol Hill House Democrats are worried about a controversial bill called HB 1788. This bill is causing a stir because it gives tax breaks to pregnancy centers that some say pretend to be healthcare places but don’t actually offer medical help. Democratic leaders like Cyndi Munson from Oklahoma City are against it. They think it’s wrong to use taxpayer money to support religious groups that aren’t watched by the government.

Meloyde Blancett a representative from Tulsa thinks the bill big tax break for religious groups is a bad idea. Even though some say it’s good for helping the economy. Democrats say it’s not right to give so much money to group that might not follow the rules and could have bad effects on women healthcare. HB 1788 got through the House with a big vote of 76 to 18. But now, it has to go to the Senate for more talking. Lawmakers are trying to figure out if it’s okay to support organizations that might not offer proper healthcare for women.
