Iowa Farms As Tax Credit Sources

California is considering purchasing tax credits from Iowa farms to offset diesel emissions. Some Iowa farms have installed anaerobic digesters to remove methane from manure.

Iowa farms then sell it as environmentally friendly fuel. Critics argue that this plan involving Iowa farms would benefit factory farms over cleaner sources like wind and solar energy.

Supporters believe that this plan involving Iowa farms is a step towards reducing emissions globally. The decision on this plan involving Iowa farms is expected in the spring.

According to a published article by SmartNews, it could also lead to an increase in Iowa farms and other states. California may also purchase tax credits from other parts of the country with similar setups, not just through the Iowa farms.
