The law is important because addresses issues in the job market where more people are doing gig work instead of traditional jobs. The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) supports the law saying it will protect workers especially those delivering to SNAP recipients. The discussion around the law is ongoing considering the benefits like better online security and improved work conditions and challenges such as higher costs for businesses.
