Gov. Glenn Youngkin praised the Virginia Senate for passing a bill that will help small-business bakeries sell their baked goods with fewer state restrictions.
The bill, House Bill 759, was prompted by a complaint from a bakery owner who received notice for operating without a necessary permit.
According to a published article by SmartNews, the bill allows bakeries to sell goods at events lasting no longer than 14 days and advertise online as long as sales are made in person. The bill was supported by the majority in both the House and Senate.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin thanked the bakery owner for bringing attention to the issue and looked forward to signing the bill into law.
