Eligible Florida Residents Must Act Fast to Receive Payouts from Bank of America in a Class Action Lawsuit

Time is running out for eligible Florida residents to claim their share of a $500,000 settlement offered by Bank of America due to alleged violations of the Consumer Collection Practice Act. The settlement stems from late-night debt communications sent by the bank, for which affected individuals could receive up to $500 through a class-action lawsuit according to the recent news published by The Sun. However, the deadline to file claim forms is looming, with just hours left for potential claimants to take action.

Bank of America’s breach of Florida’s Consumer Collection Practice Act consisted of sending debt communications between the hours of 9 pm and 8 am local time. The settlement covers any such communications received since April 22, 2020, including calls, texts, and other forms of communication. To ensure eligibility, recipients can check their phone logs for late-night communications and file a claim through the Kroll Settlement website before the imminent deadline.

Class members should have received a Class Member ID for claim submission in the mail. Claim forms must be submitted before the deadline since communication awards are capped at $500 per qualifying class member. Before receiving a claim settlement payment, Settlement Class members must submit a completed Claim Form, pending court approval.

Florida Residents Urged to File Claims Promptly

Notably, the settlement sees Bank of America admitting no wrongdoing but requires them to proceed with payouts to resolve the issue with Florida’s Consumer Collection Practice Act. Top Class Action has clearly instructed individuals not involved in the case to refrain from filing a claim.

Eligible Florida residents should act swiftly to ensure they don’t miss out on this opportunity to claim their rightful share of the settlement. The clock is ticking, and it’s imperative for those affected to follow the necessary steps to file their claim forms promptly before the impending deadline, thereby securing their potential payouts.
