No Jackpot Winner in Mega Millions $262 Million Draw, Jackpot Soars to $285 Million

When there was no jackpot winner in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, the prize pool rolled over to a whopping $285 million for Friday night’s drawing according to the latest report from iHeart. Players’ expectation has grown as a result of the $262 million drawing on January 23rd not having a jackpot winner, since they were hoping for a larger prize.

No player matched all six, therefore the jackpot rolled over despite the high stakes and the drawn numbers of 21-28-58-69-70, with a gold ball of 20 and a 2x Megaplier. With a $135.1 million cash value, the current projected reward is $285 million.

This is the seventh time in the history of Mega Millions that the jackpot has exceeded $1 billion. MegaMillions.com states that the chances of winning are 1 in 302.5 million.

The January 14 Mega Millions drawing, reaching $1.35 billion, was the second-highest in the game’s history and the fourth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot. The article lists previous January winners and notes the rarity of such occurrences.

Until a winning ticket with all six numbers—including the “gold ball,” or Powerball—is drawn in each game, the jackpots for both Mega Millions and Powerball keep growing.
