The Disputed Jackpot

Tyrone MacInnis and Barbara Reddick initially split equally after their lottery win, but they argued. Reddick claimed the full prize based on her purchase of the winning ticket, despite MacInnis’ contact details being used.

After a TikTok video showed Reddick strongly stating her intention to sue her nephew for the large jackpot, the family feud gained attention.

In September 2018, the family settled without a court trial after legal battles and viral attention. The resolution settled the lottery winnings dispute by awarding MacInnis $255,404 and Reddick $636,617.
