The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program is intended for low-income households with children. It is a block program with a wide variety of benefits, and the amount that eligible recipients will receive varies depending on the state where they live.
In a published article in MARCA, the TANF program is offered across 50 states in the country. The plan is to help the children, who don’t have the capabilities to take care of themselves and don’t get to pick the situation of their families.
How Much Will You Receive?

- $146 per month in the state of Mississippi
- $862 in the state of New Hampshire
- Alaska offers $821
- California offers $696
- Arkansas with $162
- Louisiana with $188
Furthermore, most states in the country offer an amount of $399 monthly. The difference of amount is based on the cost-of-living in each state.
