Eligible and qualified taxpayers in Alabama will start receiving tax rebates up to $300 on December 1, 2023, the Alabama Department of Revenue says.

Americans across the country are always looking for extra cash to meet their daily needs and pay for their utilities. This time, the Alabama Department of Revenue announced that it will start to distribute one-time tax rebates of up to $300 to eligible taxpayers.
In a published article in the U.S. News, it is expected that the one-time tax rebates will be sent to 1.9 million residents in the state. Moreover, this will cost the state about $393 million, which comes from a $2.8 billion surplus in the Education Trust Fund.

Are You Qualified?
According to a published article in MARCA, there are no income limits for this one-time tax rebates, but the following will not receive the payment:
- Those who did not file a 2021 state Individual Income Tax return by Oct. 17, 2022;
- Those who are not state residents;
- Estate or trust accounts;
- Those who claimed as a dependent during the 2021 tax year.
Furthermore, single tax filers will receive $150, while married couples filing jointly will receive $300. It will be sent through direct deposit of paper check.
