The state of Alabama will release an amount of up to $300 in tax rebate checks next week, but not all taxpayers will receive the payment.
$300 in Tax Rebate Checks
Alabama is one of the states in the country that will release tax rebate checks. Eligible taxpayers will receive the payment beginning December 1, 2023 and it is expected that there will be around 1.9 million residents in Alabama who will receive the payment.
In a published article in MARCA, single or individual filers will receive $150, while couples jointly filing together will receive $300. The initial tax rebate proposed by the local government in Alabama was $400 but the General Assembly approved $300.

Who are Not Eligible for the $300 Tax Rebate Checks?
According to an article published in The Gazette, only those who filed their 2021 personal income tax are eligible for the $300 tax rebate checks. However, those who did not file a personal Alabama income tax return, estates, trusts, and individuals claimed as dependents on a 2021 federal or Alabama state income tax return do not qualify for the rebate.
Furthermore, Gov. Kaye Ivey said, “From the very beginning, it has been my belief that it is the responsibility of government to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars while actively looking for ways to support citizens through tough times.”
