According to Bieber, it is not likely that the U.S. federal government will issue a stimulus check 2023 just like in 2022. This is because the Congress is still divided and the COVID-19 state of emergency is ending in May. Nonetheless, there is a big chance that state governments will issue a stimulus check 2023.

This is because states reportedly have huge budget surpluses from unspent COVID-19 relief funds provided by the federal government. In addition, because of the inflation in the past months, there had also been an increase in tax revenues in the states. Several lawmakers are hoping to receive support from their constituents once they decide that a stimulus check 2023 is needed.
