Up To $1,050 Direct Payments To Arrive In 5 U.S. Cities, States This February

Up to $1,050 in direct payments will arrive in 5 different cities and states in the U.S. this February. These payments intend to provide relief to Americans amidst the current inflation of 6.5%.

Direct payments of $400 to $1,050 will be arriving in 5 different cities and states in the U.S. this February. These direct payments intend to provide relief to millions of Americans amidst the effect of the worsening inflation that currently stands at 6.5%. Some of these payments will be received by a few cities only, while others will be received by an entire state.

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA

According to Dumandan, in Alexandria, Virginia, there is a program called Alexandria Recurring Income for Success and Equity (ARISE). This program provides $500 a month to 170 recipients for two years. The first batch of payments was scheduled to be issued on the last week of January through debit-like cards. Another batch of payments is scheduled to be issued in February. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of Alexandria and be at least 18 years old. They must also earn an income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income. In addition, the income limit for a household with one person is $49,850.

MADISON, WISCONSIN

In Madison, Wisconsin, there is also a program called The Madison Forward Fund. $500 worth of monthly payments have started arriving last October 2022 and will carry on for one year. The coming batch of payments is expected to arrive this February. To be eligible, an applicant must be a resident of Madison, have at least one child, and earn a household income of below 200% of the federal poverty line. A total of 155 families with low incomes were randomly chosen from around 3,000 applications.

CALIFORNIA

In California, the residents will be receiving one-time payments of $200 to $1,050. These payments are part of the state’s Middle Class Tax Refund program. Residents who have changed their information after filing a 2020 tax return must have received a debit card between December 17, 2022 and January 14 this year. However, those who have changed their address after filing a 2020 tax return will receive a debit card between January 30 and February 14 this year.

To be eligible, an applicant must have filed a 2020 tax return by October 15, 2021. They must also meet the state’s adjusted gross income limits. They must not have been claimed as a dependent in the 2020 tax year. They must have been a resident of California for six months. Lastly, they must have been a resident of California when the payments were issued.

IDAHO

In Idaho, a one-time payment of $600 will continue to be issued in February. The tax rebates were initially approved in September 2022 to cut taxes and reduce the state’s budget surplus. Fortunately, payments will carry on until March this year, especially if tax returns were filed late or there were complications during the process. Reportedly, single filers will receive a minimum of $300, while joint filers will receive $600.

MASSACHUSETTS

According to Blake, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, the second batch of its universal basic income program began in December 2022. This batch provided payments of up to $400 to 700 residents from January to March this year. The first batch was when 2,000 households received monthly payments from November 2020 until August 2021. To be eligible, one must only need to be a resident of Chelsea and earn less than 30% of the Area Median Income. Unfortunately, the deadline for applying online has already ended on January 6.
