$500 worth of monthly payments are being issued to the residents of Evanston, Illinois under the Guaranteed Income Program. A total of 150 residents are receiving these payments for a year.
Residents of Evanston City in the state of Illinois are receiving monthly payments worth $500. These monthly payments are issued to 150 residents for a year under the state’s Guaranteed Income program. In addition, these payments are issued through a prepaid debit card without any condition as to how these payments must be spent.According to Fuller, the applications for these monthly payments have already ended on August 29, 2022. The first batch of payments was also expected to have been issued by November 1 last year. However, applicants that were not selected can still receive these payments if a recipient withdraws from the program in the first six months. Some applicants not selected may also be offered compensation to participate in surveys.
The recipients of these monthly payments were selected via a random lottery. Eligible applicants were aged 18 to 24 or 62 or older. Applicants also had an income limit of at or below 250% of the federal poverty line. For example, a household with one person had an income limit of $33,975.

Another Guaranteed Income Program in Illinois
According to Liederman, the residents of Cook County in the state of Illinois are also receiving monthly payments worth $500. These monthly payments are issued to 3,250 residents for two years under a Guaranteed Income Pilot program as well. Recipients were also selected via a random lottery in November 2022. The first batch of payments was expected to have been issued by December of the same year. This program has the same income limit criteria as the program from Evanston, Illinois.
