First Round for Wednesday Recipients Arrives Soon

According to Vibes.okdiario , The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed that the next SSDI payment will be issued on December 11, 2024. While some Disability Insurance recipients received their check earlier, on December 3, this is because they either began receiving benefits before May 1997 or are also receiving SSI benefits.

For those who don’t qualify for the December 3 payment, there will be two more SSDI payments in December. To be eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), you must have worked and paid sufficient payroll taxes, as well as have a qualifying disability according to the SSA’s definition.

SSDI Payment Dates:

  • December 11, 2024: If your birthday falls between the 1st and the 10th of any month, you will receive your SSDI payment on December 11. If you also receive SSI or began receiving benefits before May 1997, you will not be eligible for this payment.
  • December 18, 2024: Recipients whose birthdays fall between the 11th and 20th will receive their SSDI payment on December 18.
  • The final SSDI payment in December will not be issued on the usual fourth Wednesday because it falls on December 25, which is Christmas Day, a Federal Holiday.

SSDI Payment Amounts: The amount of your SSDI payment depends on your work history and the payroll taxes you’ve paid into Social Security. The average SSDI payment is approximately $1,542. If you were a high earner, you could receive up to $3,822, but this is rare and typically applies only to those who earned the maximum taxable amount for 35 years.

Please note that the 2025 COLA increase will not be included in the December payments. Eligible recipients will receive the updated payment, including the COLA increase, starting in January 2025, with payments scheduled for January 3, 8, 15, or 22.

Be sure to keep these dates in mind to ensure you receive your benefits on time.
