According to Vibes.okdiario, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments are typically issued on November 3. However, this month, SSDI checks and direct deposits will not be sent on that date due to the scheduling conflict with the weekend.
November Payment Schedule
Since November 3 falls on a Saturday, it has been removed as a payday for this month, as Social Security does not issue checks on Saturdays, Sundays, or Federal holidays. The next SSDI payment date will be November 1.
For those who began receiving SSDI payments before May 1997, November 1 will be their scheduled payday. Additionally, recipients of both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and SSDI will also receive their payments on this date.
Many SSDI recipients will not receive their checks or direct deposits until after November 1, 2024. Specifically, all disability recipients who started receiving Social Security after April 30, 1997 will follow a different payment schedule based on their birth dates:
- Birthdays from 1-10: Payment on November 13
- Birthdays from 11-20: Payment on November 20
- Birthdays from 21-31: Payment on November 27
Average SSDI Payments
The average SSDI payment for Americans is $1,539, which serves as a reference for what a Disability Insurance payment might look like. The maximum benefit can be as high as $3,822. To qualify for the maximum payment, individuals must have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years in jobs covered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and have filed their claims as late as permitted by the agency.

For those who also receive SSI, the average payments are approximately $698. It’s important to note that having SSDI payments may result in a lower-than-average SSI check, as SSDI earnings can reduce SSI amounts.
Eligibility Requirements for SSDI
To qualify for Disability Insurance, applicants must have a qualifying disability and must have worked for the minimum number of years required. The younger an individual is, the fewer Social Security credits they will need to qualify for SSDI payments.
It is advisable to file for SSDI as soon as possible, as there may be delays in processing applications for disability insurance.
