A Neighborhood in Crisis

According to WISH-TV, Reese Hamilton is a 16-year-old boy who lives in a part of Indianapolis that has seen a lot of violence. His neighborhood is one of the most dangerous in the city, and Reese has seen many bad things happen. He has written letters to the mayor and started a group called “Reese’s Blue Ribbon Project” to help make his neighborhood safer.

The Trauma of Growing Up in a War Zone

Reese has seen some very sad things happen in his neighborhood. He remembers when his friend got hurt very badly and there was blood everywhere. He also remembers when his uncle got shot at his own home. When he was just 8 years old, Reese wrote a letter to the mayor saying he wanted things to change. The mayor listened, and Reese decided to organize a walk for peace.

Community Comes Together for Change

The walk was very successful, and many people came to join Reese. He has done this walk five times now, and it has helped bring people together to work for peace. Reese wants to do something even bigger next time, so he is planning a bike ride for peace in July.
