Economic Challenges Atlanta’s Suburban Areas

Forest Park

For inhabitants of Forest Park, the combination of having the second-lowest income and the lowest median house value in the Atlanta region presents a dire situation. Despite its affordability, the community faces economic challenges as evidenced by a high unemployment rate, which makes it the worst Atlanta suburb to reside in by 2024.

Morrow

Known for being close to Atlanta, Morrow has problems since its income is lower than the average for the metro area, which exacerbates the strain on the economy. Morrow has a high unemployment rate due to a large population that works in fast food restaurants, making it one of the least desirable suburbs in the area.

Jonesboro

Despite having cheap living expenses, Jonesboro struggles to draw and keep residents because there aren’t many options for employment or recreation. The city struggles with economic inequality despite being reasonably priced, as seen by its low unemployment rate and median income.

Lithonia

Residents in Lithonia face challenging conditions, as the city’s median income and job prospects lag behind those of other suburbs. Less than 20 miles from downtown Atlanta, Lithonia is the fourth-lowest Atlanta suburb in terms of household incomes and has the sixth-highest unemployment rate. Despite this, Lithonia people struggle financially.

College Park

Primarily recognized as a suburban area, College Park has challenges such as elevated jobless rates and below-average property values. The city is among the top ten worst Atlanta suburbs for 2024 because, while being close to Atlanta, it cannot offer its citizens economic stability.

Palmetto

Due to their high poverty rate and low median wages, Palmetto inhabitants struggle financially. Though reasonably priced, the community struggles to offer chances to its citizens, which adds to its image as one of the least desirable suburbs in the Atlanta region.

Conyers

Conyers faces financial difficulties due to high unemployment rates and median wages that are below average. Despite its proximity to Atlanta, the city faces challenges in providing economic stability for its residents, earning it a spot among the ten worst Atlanta suburbs for 2024.

Clarkston

With high unemployment rates and median wages that are below average, Clarkston‘s citizens confront financial difficulties. Despite being reasonably priced, the city finds it difficult to give its citizens access to the economy, which adds to its image as one of the least appealing suburbs in the Atlanta region.

Union City

Union City faces financial difficulties due to its high unemployment rate and median salaries that are below average. Even though it’s close to Atlanta, the city struggles to give its citizens a stable income, which makes it one of the top ten worst Atlanta suburbs for 2024.

East Point

East Point‘s population faces numerous obstacles due to its high unemployment rate and above-average levels of poverty. Despite being reasonably priced, the community finds it difficult to give its citizens access to the economy, which has earned it a place in the top ten worst Atlanta suburbs for 2024.
