Darren Dawson Charged with Torture and Larceny After Allegedly Holding Woman Captive for Six Months
Dawson Faces Life Sentence, $1 Million Bond, and Strict Conditions Pending Trial
According to True Crime News, in a disturbing case from Linton Township, Michigan 34-year-old Darren Dawson faces grave accusations for allegedly holding a 58-year-old woman captive for six months. The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office claims that Dawson imprisoned the victim in a closet in his apartment from November 2023 to April 2024. During this time Dawson is said to have tortured the woman and stolen her Social Security benefits and food stamps. This shocking case has captured widespread attention due to the severity of the alleged crimes.
Dawson is charged with torture, unlawful imprisonment and larceny for stealing between $1,000 and $20,000. If convicted of the torture charge he could face a life sentence in prison. After his arraignment Dawson received a $1 million bond and remains in the Macomb County Jail. If released he will be required to wear a GPS monitor and he must avoid any contact with the victim or possession of firearms. Dawson’s next court date is set for August 20, 2024.

Lucido emphasized that the prosecutor’s office is committed to seeking justice and ensuring Dawson is held fully accountable for the alleged crimes.
