Body Found in Shopping Cart and Set on Fire Under Yonkers Bridge
Investigation Reveals Body Transported by Train; NYPD Takes Over Case
According to True Crime News, in a shocking and disturbing crime a man’s body was discovered in a shopping cart set on fire under a bridge in Yonkers just north of New York City. The incident occurred on Monday August 5 at around 2 am when officers responded to the Oak Street Bridge in Mt. Vernon after a report of a fire. The responding officers were initially met with a scene of chaos and destruction as flames engulfed the area. The fire department quickly arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze but what they found was far more sinister than a simple fire. The victim’s body was found inside the shopping cart with signs of extreme trauma and disfigurement. The police were immediately called to the scene and they quickly launched an investigation into the gruesome crime.
As investigators worked on the murder case they found that the victim’s body had been transported from the Bronx to Yonkers on a MetroNorth train before being left at the crime scene. The motive for the crime is still unclear. Police discovered a gun, drugs and other body parts in a Bronx apartment indicating the case might be more complicated than first thought. The New York Police Department has taken over the investigation. The victim’s identity and the cause of death are still unknown.
