According to True Crime News, in Spring Hill, Florida a 22-year-old woman is in the hospital after being stabbed by her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend. On July 31 Hernando County deputies responded to a stabbing call and found Sydney McKelvy with a chest wound. They learned that Jeffrey Hildebrandt Jr. McKelvy’s boyfriend, lives at the home where the incident occurred. Hildebrandt said his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Emily Morales, arrived uninvited and was causing trouble.

Officials said that Hildebrandt left the house briefly to tell his mother about Morales’s unexpected visit. While he was gone McKelvy answered the door and let Morales inside. Morales then became confrontational pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed McKelvy in the chest. When Hildebrandt returned he found McKelvy injured and tried to help her. Morales also allegedly attempted to stab Hildebrandt before fleeing. McKelvy was taken to a trauma center and needed surgery for her injuries.

Emily Morales Arrested and Charged After Stabbing Incident

Later authorities found Morales at her home and arrested her. During questioning, Morales admitted she went to confront her ex-boyfriend but was surprised to find McKelvy there. She claimed that McKelvy took an “aggressive stance” which led her to stab McKelvy before throwing away the knife. Morales is facing charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is being held in Hernando County Jail with a bond set at $5,000. The sheriff’s office has not yet provided more details about McKelvy’s condition.
