Four Charged in Kent for Fatal Shooting of 13-Year-Old During Robbery

Suspects Planned Robbery in Advance; Victim Shot When Attempting to Escape

According to True Crime News, in Kent, Washington four people have been charged for the shooting death of 13-year-old Matthiew Stavkovy during a robbery on July 16. The suspects are Diavante Dunmore 20 Marsais Dunmore 17 Semarias Woods 16 and Faysal Abdullahi 18. They are charged with first-degree murder and robbery. The incident occurred when Stavkovy went with a friend to meet a camera seller from OfferUp at Turnkey Park. The meeting turned deadly when the suspects, who planned to rob the seller, attacked the victims.

The suspects planned the robbery carefully including arranging for a getaway. They arrived early to get ready. When the seller arrived with Stavkovy Marsais Dunmore allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Stavkovy. Stavkovy and his friend tried to escape on an ATV when they saw the gun. Despite quick emergency help Stavkovy died at the scene.

Suspects Arrested; Prosecutor Highlights Recklessness Behind Fatal Shooting

Police have arrested Abdullahi and the other suspects. Court records show that Abdullahi organized the OfferUp meeting and Diavante Dunmore admitted that his brother Marsais fired the fatal shot. Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Thomas O’Bann stated that although the suspects did not plan to kill anyone their reckless actions resulted in a young boy’s death. These charges emphasize the severe consequences of their violent crime and the deep impact of the loss on the community.
