Thomas Glatfelter Arrested After Alleged Hammer Attack on Cousin
Ruben’s Family Relieved but Traumatized After Violent Incident
According to FOX10 NEWS, Thomas Glatfelter was arrested after a violent incident on July 30 where he allegedly attacked his cousin Dustin Ruben with a hammer. The attack happened around 3:15 a.m. at Ruben’s home on Old Government Street Road. Ruben’s boyfriend reported that they were asleep when they heard their door being broken open. Glatfelter then came into the house dragged Ruben into the kitchen and started hitting him with the hammer. Although Ruben managed to briefly hold the hammer the fight left him with serious injuries.
Ruben’s boyfriend tried to get help but could not stop Glatfelter from leaving. Before he could reach a neighbor Glatfelter had already driven away. Ruben suffered multiple injuries including bruises on his chest and legs, scratches, and a deep cut on his head. His mother Sissy Foster said that the incident felt like a near-death experience and was thankful her son survived. She was amazed at how Ruben managed to hold onto the hammer during the attack.

Glatfelter Captured and Faces Eight Charges After Intense Search
The search for Glatfelter was quickly launched with help from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and Mobile Police Department. Glatfelter was eventually found and arrested in Baldwin County. He now faces eight criminal charges. Ruben’s family feels relieved that Glatfelter has been caught but remains deeply affected by the traumatic event.
