Man Sought for Smuggling Minor Led Police on High-Speed Chase Through Central Texas Before Being Apprehended in Temple
On July 30, Chainze Lamar Faheem Wilson who was sought by the Uvalde Police Department for smuggling a minor was apprehended following a high-speed chase in Central Texas. The pursuit began around 2:45 p.m. when Lorena police attempted to stop Wilson on Interstate 35 for a traffic infraction. Wilson ignored the stop attempt leading to a chase that concluded in Temple, according to the report of KWTX.
Suspect Apprehended Without Incident After High-Speed Chase
Wilson later abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. Despite his efforts to escape officers from Lorena, Troy, and Temple coordinated quickly to capture him. They discovered a Glock handgun with a 30-round magazine and marijuana inside the abandoned car.
Wilson is currently held at the McLennan County Jail facing several charges including smuggling a minor evading arrest both in a vehicle and on foot possession of marijuana and illegal carrying of a weapon. The Lorena Police Department expressed relief that the arrest was made without injury or force.
