Man Found Dead Leads to a Woman Charged with Murder

Accomplice Found Moving Body; Blood and Bullet Hole Discovered During Investigation

A 25-year-old woman from Burnsville, Minnesota has been charged with second-degree intentional murder after a violent incident that left a man found dead. According to True Crime News, the tragic events began on July 9 when Powers allegedly shot Ricco after a heated argument. The man was later discovered to be deceased. According to authorities, Powers initially reported the incident as a shooting by another person. However, her story soon unraveled leading investigators to suspect her as the primary perpetrator. Powers’ father who was on vacation at the time returned home on July 16 to find what seemed like splattered brown paint throughout the house. He noticed a man in a hazmat suit cleaning the house and removing carpets. The father became suspicious and reported the situation to the police. When officers investigated they found evidence of blood in various parts of the house including the garage and a basement bedroom. A bullet hole was also discovered in the basement raising further suspicions. The body of the man found dead was later identified as Michael Ricco.

Powers Admits to Shooting Victim; Accomplice Found with Body in Minneapolis Shed

Powers initially claimed that an unknown man had shot Ricco but further investigation pointed to her as the shooter. Witnesses revealed that Powers had been involved in a heated argument with Ricco before allegedly shooting him. Powers then reportedly asked Christopher Hawkins a local acquaintance to help move Ricco’s body. Hawkins claimed Powers showed him the wrapped body and instructed him to transport it. A search warrant was executed at Hawkins’ Minneapolis home where police found a shed containing a container with human remains. The remains were identified as Ricco’s and the cause of death was confirmed as a gunshot wound to the head ruling the death a homicide. The body of the man found dead was later identified as Michael Ricco. Hawkins who had initially been hired to move a “package” from Powers’ home admitted to noticing blood in the house and helping clean up the scene. He is currently in jail on a separate burglary charge but will face charges related to the murder once he is released. Powers is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court on August 1. She faces serious charges for her alleged role in this tragic incident involving the man found dead.
