Neighbor’s Attempt to Help Ends in Two Men Shot

A Portland woman was stabbed and two men were shot as a result of a series of violent incidents on Friday night, according to the KPTV crime report. The Portland Police Bureau said that shortly after 9 p.m. the events started on Fessenden Street North. Officers were called to a scene where the Portland woman’s boyfriend had repeatedly stabbed her in the arm. When they got to the site they saw the injured Portland woman who was immediately rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention. The police searched in vain for the suspect but were unable to find him. The police were summoned back to the same address about 11 p.m. in reference to another violent incident. The injured woman’s dog had been taken by a neighbor. For protection she went with her neighbor’s boyfriend. Upon their arrival the suspect in the stabbing approached them with a knife. Fearing for her own safety the neighbor defended herself with a rifle. In the confusion, she unintentionally shot her lover after shooting the suspect. After suffering severe injuries both guys were admitted to the hospital. Thankfully, a full recovery is anticipated for them.

After shooting both males the neighbor turned over her gun to the authorities right after and she is now fully assisting with the investigation. She hasn’t been arrested as of yet. A maintenance worker stated that someone inside an apartment had fired shots through a door earlier in the evening. If there is any connection between this occurrence and the string of violent events the authorities are looking into it. The course of events and the reasons behind them are still being looked into by the Portland Police Bureau. The incident has shook the community and brought attention to the perilous nature of domestic abuse as well as the unforeseen repercussions that might result from self-defense scenarios.
