Shawnee Teen Arrested and Charged with Attempted Murder After Double Stabbing Incident
Overland Park Man, 18, Arrested for Attempted Murder in Double Stabbing at Shawnee Home
According to the crime report of Kansas City Star, a double stabbing incident earlier this month led to the arrest and attempted murder accusation of an 18-year-old Overland Park resident. Christopher Curtis is accused of stabbing a 17-year-old boy on June 15 and is charged with attempted second-degree murder. The 17-year-old victim’s name has not been made public because of his age. The Shawnee residence in question is located in the 5000 block of Barton Drive. Officers arrived at the site around 12:13 p.m. the day the assault occurred, according to the Shawnee Police Department. They discovered that a mother and an adolescent boy had been stabbed upon their arrival. The mother had minor injuries while the teenage kid had non-life-threatening injuries. Police started looking for the culprit whom they now know to be Christopher Curtis shortly after arriving at the site. Christopher Curtis who had previously attended Arrowhead Day School and Shawnee Mission Northwest High School was found and placed under arrest the same day. Angry violence and aggravated burglary are the other allegations against Christopher Curtis in addition to the attempted murder charge. According to court records, Christopher Curtis allegedly planned to hurt the woman when he broke in.

18-Year-Old Christopher Curtis Troubling History of Run-Ins with the Law
Christopher Curtis has already handled legal matters. He was previously accused of three crimes in juvenile court, according to court records. Threats to commit crimes, acts of violence and property destruction were among the accusations. Christopher Curtis has a $100,000 cash bond and is being held at the Johnson County Detention Center. His upcoming court appearance is not yet scheduled. The surrounding community is surprised and alarmed by the double stabbing.
