Former Colorado Swim Coach Convicted of Malicious Assault on Underage Athletes
Jon Beber Found Guilty of Abusing Position of Trust, Faces Sentencing
According to True Crime Daily former Colorado swim coach Jon Beber has been convicted of malicious assault toward athletes he trained between 1997 and 2001 in Boulder. He was found guilty of two counts of malicious assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and one count of malicious assault on a child. Beber has been remanded into custody pending sentencing on July 19th.

Former Colorado Swim Coach Faces Justice After Decades-Long Silence
During his time coaching Beber reportedly engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with minors. Despite concerns raised by parents in 2002, the abuse wasn’t reported to the authorities at the time. Beber then left Colorado but the district attorney’s office eventually brought charges against him in 2022 after three victims bravely came forward with their stories. He was arrested in Atlanta. The district attorney praised the courage of the victims and emphasized that despite time passing, justice was served. Beber’s actions caused immense trauma but through the bravery of those affected and the efforts of law enforcement accountability has been achieved.
