On March 14 Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) alerted the Chino Valley Police Department (CVPD) about the suspected download of child pornography within the town’s limits. The ensuing investigation led detectives to a residence in the 2300 block of Cochise Drive where 48-year-old Kurt Colin resided. Acting on a search warrant obtained through the Chino Valley Municipal Court officers descended on Colin’s home on March 21 seizing digital evidence for a thorough examination.

Arrest and Booking of Kurt Colin in Yavapai County Jail
A computer forensic analyst from HSI Flagstaff meticulously reviewed the files from the confiscated devices ultimately discovering 10 images of child sexual abuse material. Shaken by the findings the CVPD arrested Colin on March 29 charging him with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. He was subsequently booked into the Yavapai County jail in Prescott marking a significant step in bringing justice for the victims involved.
