Controversy Erupts as Indianapolis Officer Murderer Gets Varied Sentence

According to the report of INDIANAPOLIS RECORDER, in a big decision in Indianapolis a man named Elliahs Dorsey 31 got a mixed result for what he did in 2020. He was found guilty but mentally ill for killing a police officer named Breann Leath. Dorsey got 25 years for shooting his girlfriend Aisha Brown but just the time he already served for killing Officer Leath. People are upset about this decision especially the police officer family and friends.

Community Questions Legal System Decision

Dorsey got a break because of his mental health issues and the time he already spent in jail. But many people think this is not fair especially to Officer Leath loved ones. The head of the Indianapolis Police Department Chief Chris Bailey is really disappointed with the decision. He thinks it does bring the right closure and justice for Officer Leath her family and the city. Mayor Joe Hogsett feels the same way. He shocked and sad about what happened in court. Now people are asking if the justice system did the right thing especially for the Indianapolis officer who lost her life.
