82-Year-Old Killed in Eviction Dispute with Family Friend
In a heartbreaking incident, an 82-year-old man lost his life because of an eviction dispute with a longtime family friend. The victim, C.J. Young, met a tragic end when Nathan Zeigler, a 64-year-old man, allegedly shot him dead during a confrontation.
Authorities responded to the scene following Young’s distress call to 911, uncovering the grim reality of the dispute. According to True Crime Daily, Ziegler was heard while on the call with 911 saying “I told you I wasn’t playing with you”. Then he shot Young which resulted in the latter’s death.
Zeigler claimed he shot the victim because of self-defense. Lead Assistant Solicitor Shannon Elliot of South Carolina, said to the jury “This was not self-defense, this was a senseless murder.”

Fatal Fallout: Conviction Sheds Light on Eviction Dispute Tragedy
The recent conviction of Nathan Zeigler, 64 years old, sheds light on the fatal consequences of an eviction dispute that escalated tragically. The victim, 82-year-old C.J. Young, faced a grim fate when Zeigler allegedly shot him dead during a confrontation at Young’s residence.
The dispute was about an eviction notice issued to Zeigler. Tensions boiled despite their over 20 years of friendship. According to the South Carolina Solicitor David Pascoe, Zeigler was “like a son to the victim”. Zeigler was allowed to line in Young’s home for free while Young was in New York for almost two decades. In December 2021. Young already informed Zeigler of the eviction notice but he refused to leave.
