Unanswered Questions Surrounding Motive and Timing
The killing spree happened just before Soto was supposed to pay money for the property damage which was due by March 28. It seems he might have used money from a bond he posted in his earlier felony case to pay it. Even though people want to know why he did it, officials like Winnebago County State’s Attorney J. Hanley say they don’t have all the answers yet. Soto mentioned he might have smoked marijuana that was mixed with something else but it’s still unclear why he committed the killing spree crimes. Now, the community in Rockford is waiting for Soto’s next court date on April 2, hoping to understand more.
