Stephen Barnett’s Criminal Case

Stephen Barnett, 37, was arrested by Wilmington police on Monday in connection to a shooting that took place on March 21.

Stephen Barnett, a Supervisor at Port City United, is on administrative leave. He is also held at the New Hanover County Detention Facility without bond.

Stephen Barnett has also not been released on bond and is currently held at the New Hanover County Detention Facility.

According to a published article by WECT News 6, New Hanover County is cooperating with the police and other authorities in terms of the investigation of the crime involving Stephen Barnett and will provide updates when possible.

A Double Murder Case

In a published article by Port City Daily, Three suspects facing double murder charges had their bonds upheld by a judge despite new evidence.

The suspects are accused in connection with the 2021 murders of Koredresse Tyson and Bri-yanna Williams.

The victims were killed at the home of George Taylor III, who was the COO of TRU Colors Brewing, a controversial venture that employed rival gang members.

The brewery closed back in 2022 due to media scrutiny. Additionally, there is a potential for a fourth suspect to be involved in the case.
