A Detroit man, 24-year-old Charles Evans, faces serious charges following the tragic death of his 9-month-old daughter, Kinsley Evans. As reported by True Crime Daily, on June 26, 2023, Evans fatally assaulted the infant at their home on Schaefer Highway.
The child’s grandmother, Asia Nelson, reported signs of abuse and claimed that Evans had a history of violence towards his daughter. Despite concerns raised by family members, attempts to retrieve the child from Evans’ care were reportedly unsuccessful.
Evans appeared in court for his arraignment on March 17 and was remanded to jail. The case has prompted an investigation into the handling of the situation by Child Protective Services.
