A 26-year-old man from Green Bay, named Erin Bartels, might spend a really long time in prison, like 500 years, because of some really bad stuff found on his phone. Someone online told the police about some pictures or videos on the internet that showed bad things happening to kids. The police got special permission called a search warrant to look into Bartels’ house and car. They did this when they stopped him while he was driving on March 1st.

The police found 20 files on Bartels’ phone that showed really bad things happening to kids, even little babies. This is called child sexual abuse material, which is a very serious crime. It turns out Bartels had some trouble with the law before. Back in 2017, he got in trouble for something similar, but not as bad. If Bartels is found guilty this time, he could be sent to prison for up to 25 years for each bad thing found on his phone, and he might have to pay a lot of money too. Right now, he had to go to court to talk about what’s happening with his case.
