25 Years in Prison for a West Babylon Man: Justice Served in Domestic Violence Case

West Babylon Man Receives 25-Year Sentence

A 46-year-old man from West Babylon has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the attempted murder of his wife in front of their 11-year-old and 5-year-old daughters, reported by News 12. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said that a jury found the unnamed husband guilty of multiple charges, including attempted murder and assault.

According to Suffolk County, N.Y., the husband was enraged by his wife’s plan to divorce him. On the morning of June 14, 2023, he forced his way into their children’s bedroom bringing a knife. The eldest daughter pleaded with him to stop but he stabbed his wife multiple times and threatened to end both their lives. The wife managed to seek their neighbor’s help, despite the injuries. The neighbor called 911. The husband fled but Suffolk County Police Department found him at a nearby commercial building.

The wife’s bravery despite injuries

The wife suffered multiple stabbings in front of her young daughters and sought help from a neighbor despite the injuries. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney acknowledged the trauma that the husband inflicted on his family is unimaginable. He said, “We are satisfied with this sentence, but we also understand it won’t take away the damage this defendant has irreversibly inflicted on his family.”

On February 5, 2024, the husband was convicted of attempted murder along with other charges.
