Tragic Scene Unfolds: Infant Daughter Witness to Mother’s Fatal Shooting in Columbus Home

In a True Crime Daily report, in a horrific case of domestic abuse, a Franklin County jury has found 33-year-old Dallas Lowery guilty of killing his partner and child’s mother, Heather Chapman. The prosecution filed accusations of murder, felony murder, domestic abuse, tampering with evidence, and offenses involving guns. The verdict was made public by the prosecuting attorney’s office. When police went to a distress call at the couple’s Columbus, Ohio, home on Melrose Avenue on February 22, 2022, a sad event took place. The couple’s two-month-old daughter was in the same room when Heather Chapman was discovered shot and killed.

Murder Investigated: Lowery’s Attempt to Disguise Murder as Suicide is Revealed by Homicide Detectives

The tragedy was made much more horrific by Lowery’s behavior after the shooting. After allegedly perpetrating the crime, he left the infant unattended at home, went to a hotel to change his clothes, and later returned to the scene to falsely report Chapman’s death as a suicide. However, homicide detectives swiftly launched an investigation, unraveling the deceit. The co-defendant, Terry Parrish, provided crucial testimony, revealing Lowery’s threats toward Chapman in the days leading up to the incident. With the jury’s verdict, Lowery now faces a substantial sentence, ensuring justice for Heather Chapman and her bereaved family, as Deputy Chief Counsel Anthony Pierson expressed gratitude for the jury’s decision to deliver severe consequences for Lowery’s actions.
