NYPD Withholds Name of Teen Murder Suspect Amid Ongoing Investigation
According to published article of bxtimes, Police have apprehended a 17-year-old suspect in connection with the tragic murder of another teenager in the Bronx earlier this month. According to NYPD officials detectives from the Bronx Violent Felony Squad who have been actively investigating the case since last week successfully arrested the suspect on March 12 at 12:15 p.m. Due to the suspect’s age authorities are withholding his name from the public.

Tragic Shooting Claims Life of Bronx Teen: Suspect Faces Multiple Charges in Fatal Incident
The incident in question occurred on March 7 when officers from the 40th Precinct responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at 762 Cauldwell Ave. in Melrose. Upon arrival they discovered 17-year-old Laquai Dash a Bronx resident with a fatal gunshot wound to the neck. While investigations suggest a possible dispute at the location it’s reported that the victim and suspect were not acquainted. Dash was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln by EMS but was tragically pronounced dead. The suspect now faces charges including murder manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon as the authorities continue their inquiry into this heartbreaking incident.
