Georgia Football Coach Confessed To Strangling His Girlfriend
At around 9:20 AM, 43-year-old Carl Kearney, Jr, a Georgia football coach, walked into the Prince George’s County Police and confessed that he strangled his girlfriend, 39-year-old Patrina Best of Accokeek. Reported by True Crime Daily, the officers immediately check Best’s residence in the 800 block of St. James Court and found the woman strangled to death. Best was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the Facebook post of Prince George’s County Police Department, Kearney is now in the custody of the Department of Corrections and is charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges.

Woman Strangled To Death, Remembered As ‘Wonderful Person In Every Regard’
Carl Kearney, Jr, was helping Patrina Best to pack up her belongings to move to a new place of assignment. Best was an operating room nurse. She was strangled to death by Kearney during an argument.
In a statement reported by 11 Alive, Best’s family said that they will remember her as a beautiful soul, loving sister, daughter, aunt, and a dedicated nurse. According to them Best is a “wonderful person in every regard”. Her friends and colleagues have expressed their love and support to the family and it’s a testament to the amazing person Best was.
Carl Kearny Jr. is the head football coach at Spalding High School. According to Atlanta News First, a Spalding County resident, Morgan Herndon, said that he is surprised and sad about the fact that he’s a member of their community and of the school system. Herndon also said that everyone is just disturbed especially that Kearny have access to kids and teenagers at school.
