Sentenced in November 2022 for driving while intoxicated resulting in serious injuries to a 5-yearold girl, Kansas City Chiefs Coach Britt Reid’s remaining 3-year prison sentence has been converted to a house arrest until October 2025.

Kansas City Chiefs Coach Britt Reid’s Converted House Arrest Is Subject to Several Conditions

Instead of finishing his remaining 3-year prison sentence, Kansas City Chiefs Coach Britt Reid will be subject to house arrest, subject to several conditions. On Friday, Missouri Governor Mike Parson said that he pondered the decision. According to Parson spokesman Jonathan Shiflett, former Chief assistant Coach Reid has completed the alcohol abuse treatment program and has served more prison time than those convicted of similar case.

Reported by the AP News, Kansas City Chiefs Coach Britt Reid will be on house arrest until October 31, 2025. He is required to have weekly meetings with a parole officer, peer support sponsor and behavioral counseling. He will work for at least 30 hours a week and will do community service for 10 hours a month, among other things.

The Incident That Led To Kansas City Chiefs Coach Britt Reid’s Prison Sentence

According to prosecutors Kansas City Chiefs Coach Britt Reid was intoxicated when he was involved in the driving crash on February 4, 2021. It injured six people, including him, and a then 5-year-old girl named Ariel Young. Young suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Police said that Reid’s blood alcohol level is 0.113% two hours after the crash which has exceeded that legal limit of 0.08%.
