Serial Baseball Card Thief Arrested Again, Faces Felony Charges for Alleged $3,000 Target Heist

A Pennsylvania man, Stephen Thomas Naglak, 46, notorious for previous accusations of baseball card theft, was arrested on December 28 for allegedly stealing sports cards worth over $3,000 from two Target locations. Facing three third-degree felony charges for retail theft exceeding $1,000 and one misdemeanor charge for receiving stolen property, Naglak’s arrest is linked to separate incidents in November and December.

Modus Operandi and Alleged Thefts

Naglak is accused of stealing $2,779 worth of NFL and MLB trading cards from a Muncy Target on November 4. Reportedly, he strategically staged a shopping cart filled with cards, then drove to the back of the store, loaded the cards into his car, and fled. Despite attempts by employees to intervene, Naglak managed to escape.

In a separate incident on December 10, Naglak allegedly walked out of a Selinsgrove Target with $1,156 worth of sports trading cards, including NFL, MLB, and NBA cards in his possession.

A search warrant executed at Naglak’s home on December 14 revealed over 800 packs of trading cards. He is also a suspect in a trading card theft in Virginia and an attempted theft at a Walmart in Montoursville on December 7, where he left behind a cart with over $4,000 worth of cards.

Legal Consequences and Court Appearance

For the Muncy case, Naglak’s bail was set at $50,000, and the case has been waived for court proceedings. In the Selinsgrove case, he was committed to Snyder County Prison with bail set at $5,000.

Naglak is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to address charges from both incidents, adding to his history of alleged baseball card thefts, which has gained him notoriety in Pennsylvania.
