Wilmington police said a 46-year-old Wilmington man drove the vehicle and faced DUI and inattentive driving charges. Police investigated the collision, which damaged the front bumper of the gold Ford sedan, to determine if impairment was a factor.

Authorities later declared the collision accidental. A Wilmington Police Department official said the car crash did not injure anyone. Authorities investigated whether impairment caused the crash. The U.S. Secret Service also stated President Biden left safely and without danger.
