Sentencing for Tragic Drag Racing Crash
Keith Eric Jones, from Iowa, was sentenced to 16 years for killing a 4-year-old kid in a drag racing accident.
Jones was convicted of vehicle murder, drunk driving, careless driving, and abandoning the scene in November. Thursday was the sentencing day.
Robert Lee Miller III was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the December 13, 2022, accident that killed 4-year-old Marcos Faguada and injured his aunt, Mayra De Catalan.

Jones and Miller’s DUI Crash Kills Teen, Grieves Mother
Jones and Miller were inebriated at a pub when they began a fatal four-lane drag race. Miller’s automobile sped over a median and struck De Catalan’s car, which was carrying Marcos and his 8-year-old son, at 108 mph, according to authorities. Marcos died in the hospital following the collision.
At Jones’ sentencing, Marcos’ mother, Elva Galvan, said he adored dancing, laughing, and superhero costumes. Jones stole her child, breaking her heart and changing her forever. Galvan mourned her grief and transformation, stating she was no longer happy.
