Miami-Dade Police Officer is Facing Charges Related to Armed Sexual Battery and Kidnapping.

Officer Miguel Lomeli, 32, reportedly confronted his ex-girlfriend on Wednesday. He allegedly forcibly took her inside and sexually assaulted her.

Armed Sexual Battery and Kidnapping Charges Against Miami-Dade Police Officer Miguel Lomeli.

Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Officer Miguel Lomeli, 32, reportedly confronted his ex-girlfriend outside her home. He allegedly forced her inside and sexually assaulted her.

On the same day, at 10:30 p.m., the police announced that Lomeli willingly turned himself in at the headquarters of the Miami-Dade Police Department, in Doral.

“Betrayal of public trust has no place within the Miami-Dade Police Department,” stated Stephanie V. Daniels, the Director of the Miami-Dade Police, in a news release provided to local media organizations. “The accusations of wrongdoing by one of my subordinates are deeply concerning, and prompt measures have been implemented to ensure that the officer is held responsible.”

Judge Glazer Issues Restraining Order, Legal Counsel Pending for Lomeli

Miami-Dade officer Miguel Lomeli was ordered to stay away from his ex-girlfriend by Judge Mindy Glazer Thursday morning. He was given time to find a lawyer before his bond was set.

The arrest warrant from a local NBC station describes a Homestead restaurant argument. Lomeli allegedly followed the 36-year-old home in his marked police vehicle with his duty firearm. Allegedly, Lomeli fled when the victim’s 12-year-old son was instructed to call for help.

As reported by the Miami Herald, Lomeli has six years of service with the Miami-Dade police.
