A 12-year-old boy fatally shot and killed a Sonic employee using an AR rifle during a verbal altercation last week in a parking lot.

A 12-year-old boy identified as Angel Gomez shot and killed a Sonic employee identified as Matthew Davis during a verbal altercation in a parking lot last week. It all started after Davis confronted Gomez who urinated in the parking lot.
In a published article in TRUE CRIME DAILY, the Keene Police Department responded to the Sonic Drive-In on South Old Betsy Road on May 13 at around 9:40 p.m. and they found Davis suffering from gunshot wounds. They transported Davis to Harris Methodist Hospital but he was pronounced dead.

12-Year-Old Boy Is Now Under Police Custody
According to an article published in ABC News, the 12-year-old boy and his aunt immediately fled from the crime scene before the police authorities arrived. However, Gomez returned and he was taken under police authority to face the charges filed against him.
Meanwhile, Amy Pardo from the Johnson County Attorney’s Office told a news outlet that the boy may face 40 years in prison. His sentencing was scheduled on October 12. The 12-year-old boy was indicted on charges charges of tampering with or fabricating evidence.
